Growing up in gang culture, poverty, and crime ridden areas in Southern California, Rock Muhammad sought a solution that was universal and solved root issues.
So in 1998 he went on a journey seeking Universal Truth. His mother, affectionately known as Ms. Dove (RIP), always taught him and his siblings to have an open mind and showed by example how to be a good person. She was a pious woman who exposed her children to an array of spiritual ideas.
Today, Rock continues that legacy with what he considers to be the ultimate solution for African Americans in particular and humanity as a whole ...Meditation. The scientific benefits of meditation address all the inner issues that plague inner cities and people of color specifically.
Learning how to elicit the Relaxation Response, reducing stress, controlling the emotions, mindfulness, mental clarity, introspection, and proper breathing are just some of the benefits of meditation that address the mental health crisis which are underlying causes of crime and poverty.
The benefits of meditation when done in groups have been proven to lower crime and violence.

In Washington DC, 4000 meditators meditated from June 7th to July 31st 1993 and crime dropped by 23.3%. This is what is known as the Maharishi Effect wherein a group of people comes together to practice group meditation; during the window of time the meditation transpires, crime, violence, and hospitalization rates decline by 16-25% (Oklahoma Herald 2022)
Therefore, coupled with the benefits of individual effort, and the corresponding benefits of group meditation, it is our vision to spread the practice of meditation to Black communities for these very reasons.
